Vincent Kompany shares if Burnley star Lyle Foster will be fit for EFL Cup clash v Everton

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has revealed that he may not take any risks with Burnley star Lyle Foster for their EFL Cup clash with Everton on Wednesday (1 November).
Speaking to Burnley Express (31 October) ahead of the clash at Goodison Park on Wednesday evening, the Manchester City icon was unable to provide any assurances Foster will be fit for the game.
The key Turf Moor star was a big miss through illness for the Clarets on Saturday as they suffered another damaging 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth and there is a chance Kompany could rest him against Everton so he’s ready for their next must-win Premier League game.
Asked if Foster could be in contention for Wednesday, Kompany said: “I hope so, but we’ll see.
“The priority is not to take any risk, that he gets anything because of the illness.
“But I’m fairly confident it’s not going to be too bad.”

Boost for Dyche
Burnley striker Foster has proven a worthy addition for the Clarets since his move in January and already has three goals to his name in seven Premier League appearances despite their struggles so far this season.
The South African is of course their main and ideal threat so him sitting out of the Everton clash on Wednesday night could be a real boost for Sean Dyche and his men as the former Burnley boss meets his old team.
Given Burnley’s struggles right now, the Toffees will be expected to knock their opponents out and enter the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and anything other than that could well be a major disappointment for Everton.
The Toffees were as resilient and dogged as they were clinical when they needed to be against West Ham on Sunday (29 October) as that’s the mentality Dyche will be instilling around the whole dressing room in this crucial run of games starting against the Clarets.
Everton should be in great mood and confidence right now and it’s very difficult to see Kompany and his team pick up an unlikely win, especially with Foster set to miss out.
