Spurs willing to meet asking price for Gimenez
asserted that Spurs have ‘stepped up’ their interest in Gimenez, having sent scouts to Rotterdam to watch him in action during Feyenoord’s 3-1 win over Lazio last week.

I do wonder if Tottenham’s decision on whether to sign Gimenez might be impacted by Son’s brilliant run of form in the number nine role.
The club might ideally want to put off signing a number nine until next summer but if they feel they would be risking losing out on the Mexican, they might be forced to act in January.
