Everton are keen on the ‘extraordinary’ Can Uzun and Nurnberg’s sporting director is not ruling out a sale to the Premier League somewhere down the line.
Exactly when one of the brightest young attackers in German football will fly the Nurnberg nest, however, remains to be seen.
According to Sky, there is interest from Everton already. Ditto, Benfica, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, and a Brighton and Hove Albion outfit who’s Midas Touch when it comes to bringing baby-faced prospects to The Amex looks destined to continue with Simon Adingra and co.

Can Uzun, a Turkish youth international, only turns 18 this month. But the talented forward already has eight goals and two assists for Nurnberg’s first-team this season, Olaf Rebbe not surprised to see his remarkable maturity and his eye-catching end-product catch the eye.
“Can has a long-term contract with us. He is developing really great, and we are very proud that we have been able to support him for so long,” Rebbe, the club’s sporting director, tells Transfermarkt, while seemingly ruling out a January departure.
“He has drawn attention with his goals, assists, and the way he plays. The fact that he performs so consistently well at his age is extraordinary. We’ll see what the future brings. But this season, (a sale) is not an issue.”
Speculation suggests Nurnburg could look for upwards of £10 million for the teenager. A fee which would make Uzun the biggest export in the club’s entire history (Sky Germany).
‘Extraordinary’
“It would be great if we could break the record one day. But it would also be desirable if we stayed together like this for a little while longer, and things could develop further,” Rebbe adds, before indicating that a sale may be necessarily somewhere down the line.
“Fans don’t like to hear that (we might sell). They like having the boys here. But, for us, it is necessary to generate transfer proceeds.
“It doesn’t matter whether we do this with younger or older players. But we have to bring in some. In the short term, by that I mean definitely over the next three years, we need transfer revenue.”
Everton are also keen on another talented, Germany-based striker, but Maximilian Beier only recently signed a new contract at Hoffenheim
