17-year-old described as biggest talent at Palace has now signed a new contract
Eberechi Eze has been in the spotlight at Crystal Palace this week after signing a new contract – but a development involving Mofe Jemide also deserves a mention.
The 17-year-old has been tipped for big things at Selhurst Park.

What’s the story?
Well, the teenager has now signed a professional contract at Selhurst Park after turning 17.
Crystal Palace revealed in the club’s official announcement that Jemide has “consistently impressed coaches” in every age group since arriving from Barnet at Under-13 level.
The England Under-17 international was recently named as the best talent at Crystal Palace after making his way into the Guardian’s coveted Next Generation segment.
Ed Aarons – who wrote the article – added on X (previously known as Twitter) that Jemide has been “tipped for the top” by Crystal Palace’s coaching staff.
Therefore, Crystal Palace fans should arguably be just as excited by the central defender’s professional contract as they are about Eze’s new deal – he is a precocious talent.
Mofe Jemide must be involved in 1st team training at Crystal Palace
In our view, Roy Hodgson needs to get Jemide training with the senior side at Crystal Palace before the 76-year-old’s contract expires in June.
The Croydon-born manager’s tactics in an attacking sense are often criticised, but he is a superb organiser of a defence, and has made a noticeable impact on Marc Guehi, as well as Joachim Andersen.
No side in the Premier League have kept more clean sheets than Crystal Palace’s five this season.
Therefore, we think it would be worth getting Jemide involved in training under Hodgson, as the defensive education could prove invaluable for him at this stage of his development.
Whether that happens or not, it is fantastic news to see such an exciting talent commit his future to Crystal Palace.
