Elite’: Tottenham sent a message about Ange Postecoglou becoming England’s next manager

Perry Groves has questioned whether the ’elite’ Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou would take the England manager’s job.
There has been talk that Gareth Southgate could leave his role as England’s manager after Euro 2024, which has opened up the debate about who could replace him.
From Manchester City’s Treble-winning coach Pep Guardiola to Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe, many names have been mentioned.
But former Arsenal man Perry Groves decided to drop Ange Postecoglou’s name into the hat after his strong start at Tottenham, as he told talkSPORT.
Last season, the Greek-born Australian won the Treble in the colours of Celtic and it’s something that has made him a legend at the Glasgow giants.
But if Southgate does leave, then all the top coaches around Europe are going to get a mention, with Groves talking about an ‘elite’ manager having to come in.
Ange Postecoglou as England manager?
“I think these are elite players at England,” said Groves. “So, I think the elite managers would be interested in taking this job.
“What about Ange Postecoglou? Would he get a better tune out of these players?”
Ange Postecoglou has brought Tottenham to life
The last 12 months were hell for Spurs fans, not just in terms of results, but performances also.
In truth, the 2022/23 Premier League season, started off in a strong fashion, but post-January, everything and anything went downhill.
But, within a short space of time, Postecoglou has lifted the whole club, as well as transforming their style of play.
