Son Heung-min 1 Strike Away from 200-Goal Milestone in Europe

Son Heung-min of Tottenham Hotspur is just one goal away from the milestone of 200 goals in Europe after scoring a double in a North London derby against Arsenal on Sunday.In the away match at Emirates Stadium in London, the Spurs captain led the team to a 2-2 draw. With his club trailing 1-0, he received a pass from James Maddison from the side and scored the equalizer with his left foot in the 42nd minute. Spurs allowed a penalty goal in the 54th minute, but Son connected with another Maddison pass to score off his right foot just one minute later.

With the goals, Son has scored a total of 199 goals in European leagues — 49 in Germany and 150 in England. In the English Premier League alone, he is tied with Peter Crouch for 28th place on the all-time scoring list with a total of 108 goals.This season, he is currently in second place in the goal rankings with five, trailing only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, who has eight.After the match Son said, “Obviously we wanted to win, but I think the performance was perfect.”
