Major Eric Dier update after Tottenham latest

Major  Eric Dier does not feature in Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham plans despite his return to the bench for recent games, sources have told Football Insider.

The 29-year-old has had an unhappy time under the Australian so far this season, having yet to play a minute under the new Spurs boss
Tottenham were ready to allow Dier to leave the club in the summer window, but a move failed to materialise.

The long-serving defender has less than 12 months to run on his contract in north London.

Dier was restored to the bench for recent games against Sheffield United and Arsenal but is not expected to play a significant part for Spurs in the 2023-24 campaign – which could prove his last with the club.

He didn’t make the squad as Tottenham were eliminated from the League Cup at the second round stage against Fulham last month.
