DONE DEAL🛑:Boston Celtics Star Player to a two-way contract.

The Boston Celtics signed Portuguese forward Neemias Queta to a two-way contract.

The Boston Celtics announced today that they have signed center Neemias Queta to a two-way contract. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Queta became the first Portuguese player in the NBA after being drafted. 39 overall in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings. The 7-foot-7 center played in 20 NBA games with the Sacramento Kings (2021-23), posting career averages of 2.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 7.5 minutes.

Queta also had a “two-way contract” with the Sacramento Kings, which allowed him to play for both the NBA’s professional team and its G-League affiliate. Last season, he played in 29 games for the Stockton Kings, the G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings. He averaged 16.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.9 blocks.

He earned NBA G League All-Defensive Team honors for the 2022–2023 season and finished second in Kia MVP voting. Born in Barreiro, Queta started playing youth basketball at the age of 10 at F.C.

Barreirense and then played two games at the professional level with SL Benfica before deciding to play college basketball. He had a stellar career with the Utah State Aggies before joining the Sacramento Kings in the 2021 NBA Draft.
