Everton have just done something that could really help them sign more exciting young players
Everton have added two new scouts to their recruitment staff as they look to expand their network into South America.
The Athletic have reported that the Toffees have welcomed the full-time scouts to the club, with the pair setting up in Brazil and Argentina in search of some undiscovered young talent.
Everton have been working to evolve their recruitment in recent months as they look to avoid previous mistakes.
The Premier League club have been horrific in the transfer windows under Farhad Moshiri, splashing tens of millions on the likes of Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Davy Klaassen and Cenk Tosun.
Everton have noticeably started to turn their attention to more youth players since the summer, with Youssef Chermiti’s arrival a perfect example.
After making a number of changes to the recruitment department that sees European senior scout Phil Boardman join from Portsmouth, Everton will now look to explore South America as a change in rules has reportedly made it easier to sign young players from there.

Are Everton finally making progress?
The Toffees currently don’t have a single South American on their books, but have previously had a mixed bag that included Richarlison, Bernard and Allan from Brazil, as well as Funes Mori from Argentina.
A deep dive into Brazilian and Argentine’s football system should be really beneficial to Everton, with a large number of the Premier League’s biggest talents coming from there.
The likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Julian Alvarez and Alejandro Garnacho are just some of the South American prospects that have been brought in on the cheap and are set for huge futures in football.
Of course, it will be a long time before Everton can end up reaping the rewards of these changes, but it is definitely a huge positive.
