It’s no secret that Wolves like the player, and following the loss to Liverpool, O’Neil seemed to hint at a potential development.
“They still have a huge game to play, and they’re under contract at Southampton,” he stated, as reported by Nathan Judah.
“We are aware that he is a number nine and that he is out of contract.”
This comment from O’Neil regarding Adams has a foreboding quality.
Wolves are known to be interested in center forwards, and O’Neil may be implying that anything is in the works with this statement.
If the team could close this transaction quickly, it would be a great way to start the summer off right.
Due to the extremely bad results over the last few months, many fans are currently feeling a little let down by how the season has ended.
However, this will at least indicate intent ahead of the upcoming campaign if the team declares that Adams is joining on a free transfer. In order for O’Neil and Wolves to get off to a good start, fans want to see the team happy and productive before 2024–2025.
