Tottenham travel to Kenilworth Road on Saturday to take on Luton Town
Hello and welcome to football.london’s live coverage of Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Luton Town.

Victorious last time out with a very late winner against Liverpool, Ange Postecoglou and Spurs will be intent on maintaining their impressive start to the 2023/24 campaign.

If the Lilywhites manage to clinch all three points in Bedfordshire on Saturday afternoon then they will move to the top of the Premier League table as current leaders Man City are not in action until the following day.

It will be far from a straightforward game for the north London club, though, as the Hatters are looking to claim the points to help them move away from the drop zone.

Tottenham correspondents Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest are covering the match with all the build-up and the action as it happens on the pitch and reaction from the supporters and media.

Scroll down for all of our latest updates from Kenilworth Road.

Van de Ven scores
Spurs score! They’ve managed to do with 10 men what they couldn’t with 11. Great run from Maddison into the box from a short corner and Van de Ven prods home his first goal for the club.

13:39ROB GUEST
Huge chance
Luton really should be ahead but Adebayo cannot convert Ogbene’s cross to the back post.

Huge chance for the hosts.

13:23ALASDAIR GOLD
Here are Alasdair’s thoughts on that first half
You’re unlikely to see a more one-sided half of football this season but ultimately only the scoreline matters and so does the number of players now on the pitch.

Spurs had 12 shots at goal – eight coming within the first 25 minutes – and had 81% of the possession with 314 passes to Luton’s 47.

However, they just couldn’t force the ball over the line and it was Luton who managed that through Tom Lockyer but there was a foul on Cristian Romero in the build-up and an offside.

Richarlison will feel he should have done better with his early efforts on goal as would Pedro Porro when put through by his captain Son Heung-min.

This is one of those games when Ange Postecoglou would have likely told his players to keep on doing what they’re doing but just be more clinical and less rushed in the final moment and switched on around their own box.

However, Yves Bissouma’s daft two yellow cards – one a clumsy foul and the second for a clear dive – have put Spurs in a difficult spot now and they will have to find a way to win this with 10 men.

13:21ROB GUEST
Half-time
It’s 0-0 at the break in Bedfordshire.

13:20ALASDAIR GOLD
Red card
Second yellow and then a red card for Bissouma for simulation. He falls down at the end of a dribble towards the edge of the Luton box and the referee has little option but to brandish another card.

13:18ALASDAIR GOLD
Maddison effort
The Spurs midfielder curls a shot over the bar.

13:16ROB GUEST
Added time
Three minutes added on.

13:11ROB GUEST
No goal
Lockyer has the ball in the net for Luton but it doesn’t count after a foul in the area.

13:09ALASDAIR GOLD
Bissouma suspended
Clumsy yellow card for Bissouma and that’s his fifth of the season in his eighth match and he’s suspended for the Fulham game.

13:00ALASDAIR GOLD
Kulusevski chance
Good save from Kaminski to tip around Kulusevski’s low effort. Richarlison heads over from the resulting corner.

12:55ROB GUEST
Better from Luton
Luton upping the pressure on Spurs in the past few minutes and making life difficult for them.

12:47ALASDAIR GOLD
More Spurs chances
Micky van de Ven winds up for a big effort from distance that sails over the crossbar. Soon after Son has a chance that Kaminski saves.

12:41ALASDAIR GOLD
Son shot
Son fires over the crossbar from another Spurs chance in the Luton box.

12:39ROB GUEST
Timely intervention
Opening for Luton but Romero is on hand to win the ball at just the right time as Adebayo looks to have a chance.

12:39ALASDAIR GOLD
Porro through
It could be 3-0 within seven minutes here but Spurs have spurned all of their great chances. Now Porro is put through by Son but rolls his effort wide of the right-hand post. Still 0-0.

12:35ALASDAIR GOLD
Richarlison again
Another big opportunity in the first four minutes for Richarlison as Maddison plays him through but Kaminski saves.

12:34ALASDAIR GOLD
Early chance
Big early chance for Richarlison but he manages to flick Kulusevski’s cross over the crossbar at the far post.
