Lens brutally mock Arsenal with Tottenham dig after Champions League flop

Arsenal’s return to the Champions League hasn’t gone to plan so far as an RC Lens supporter mocks them with a clear Tottenham dig following their defeat away in France

An RC Lens fan has been spotted brutally mocking Arsenal fans with a clear dig on Tottenham in the stands following their Champions League clash. The French side hosted the Gunners in their second group stage game, hopeful of causing an upset and topping the group table.

The north London outfit appeared to dash any hopes of the home crowd though as Gabriel Jesus’ finish in the opening 15 minutes started the scoring. Lens wouldn’t go down without a fight though as Adrien Thomasson finished off a move that pounced on a David Raya mistake.

Into the second half and the home side were growing into the game when halfway into it, Elye Wahi capped off a fine move to give his team the lead. They managed to see it out, taking all three points from their English opposition and leapfrogging them to top of the group.

It comes as a huge blow to Arsenal and their hopes of qualification to the next round, where the knockout competition truly begins. While there’s still a long way to go before that’s all wrapped up, it did allow for some rivals to take their own time to enjoy the defeat for themselves.

One Lens fan was filmed confronting the Arsenal away support with a picture of the Tottenham badge on his phone, continually pointing at it. It created a fair bit of reaction on social media, with many Spurs fans pledging their allegiance to Lens as a result of it and the result.
