What senior Liverpool figures are now saying about FSG after yesterday’s investment news
FSG’s running of Liverpool will not change at all following news of outside investment yesterday.
After the American owners reversed their decision to put the Reds up for sale, there had long been an expectation of a minority stake being sold off instead.
And on Thursday, as per liverpoolfc.com, global sports investment firm Dynasty Equity completed a ‘strategic common equity minority investment.’ Nope, us neither.
Anyway, according to The Athletic, this is likely to mean, well, not very much. They claim that ‘senior figures’ at the club insist that the daily operation of Liverpool will not be affected ‘in any way’ by the news.
Rather, Dynasty Equity’s investment is simply being seen as a way of ensuring the Reds remain in a ‘strong financial position’ for the foreseeable future.

FSG finally conclude investment saga
There will a portion of the fanbase who will not be impressed with yesterday’s news. We were often told that outside investment would be a way of finding more funds for the transfer window.
But following this news, that doesn’t really seem like it will directly be the case.
However, that shouldn’t mean things are portrayed in a negative light. To our mind, anything that allows Liverpool to remain financially healthy is good news for the club.
By extension, the Reds should be in a better position to spend big on transfers when the need arises.
FSG have shown over the years that they are willing to back Jurgen Klopp when the right player becomes available. Now that they have some extra backing of their own in the boardroom, that shouldn’t change.
Having said all of that, the timing of this announcement is rather fortuitous for the Liverpool owners. Not only does it come when the transfer window is closed, with no possibility for investment in the squad. But it also falls at a time when the mood around the club is incredibly positive.
Had this been this time last year, for example, the reaction would have been very different. Not for the first time, John Henry and co can thank Klopp for that.
