Liverpool at the moment is not in desperate need of adding forward options to Jürgen Klopp’s roster. If anything, the Liverpool boss is spoiled for choice when it comes to his forward line.
However, if an opportunity arises that is too good to turn down, and with interest still brewing from Saudi Arabia for Mohamed Salah, nothing can be ruled out.
Should Salah be on the move in the next couple of transfer windows, Liverpool will definitely have to find a way to replace his goals, and that could see Klopp maybe moving for another forward to add to his ranks.
One forward who previously may have been out of the club’s reach could now appear as a genuine target as well amid chaos at his current club.
It’s been a turbulent few months for Victor Osimhen and Napoli. From the euphoria of lifting the club’s first Scudetto in 30 years and becoming an icon in Naples, to a very disappointing start this season.
Now things have turned ugly with Napoli uploading a TikTok video that appeared to mock its forward missing a penalty at the weekend in a bizarre creative decision. The video has since been deleted but has nevertheless gone viral, with Osimhen reportedly not happy with the club.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Nigerian forward and his team are even considering taking legal action against Napoli for that TikTok post.
The relationship has clearly soured between Osimhen and his current club, and this may mean a move could be on the cards for the Nigerian in the next couple of transfer windows. Already, rumors have begun over his future, with the Daily Mail suggesting Saudi Arabia will lead the race for Osimhen’s signature, while Chelsea could also be interested.
Napoli will undoubtedly demand a lot for his services, but if Salah is sold to Saudi Arabia, Liverpool may just have the funds to give what the Italian side wants.
Especially since Osimhen is a player who has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time, and was even linked to the club this summer by the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper (print edition via Shankly Gates) which suggested that the Reds were the ‘favorites’ to sign the Nigerian.
No offers came, but Liverpool’s interest had been confirmed in the past.
