Seems like the Lakers are having fun this season!

Training camp and the preseason are in full swing for your Los Angeles Lakers, and the season starts next week. It’s pretty crazy that we are this close to the start of the new year, but it’s exciting as well.

The Lakers will enter the year as one of the favorites to win it all, and they feel they have some unfinished business to attend to this season. After reaching the Western Conference Finals a year ago, LA brought back most of their core and added some upgrades around the edges.

One of those was big man Christian Wood, and he brings a new element to the Lakers this season. His ability to score effectively should bring their offensive production up, and it gives them more depth in the frontcourt.

After practice recently, it seems that star Anthony Davis took some fun jabs at his new teammate.

“C. Wood talking a lot of stuff, you know they were beating the purple team like 14-3 in a five-minute scrimmage and we came back won 38-34. C. Wood missed some big free throws, I think he only shot 38% from the line in the preseason, so foul him on purpose. Game plan stuff ya know. We know who won’t be playing the fourth quarter.”

Davis was just messing with Wood, but it resulted in a humorous shot between teammates. He knows that Wood is a good player, and this just shows the chemistry that is being built between this team.

Wood and Davis played together in New Orleans previously, so they already have a relationship established. Moments like this are what have been missing from the Lakers over the last few seasons, and it feels very similar to the chemistry that the 2020 team built.

This team is very deep across the board, with Wood being on the bench. His skillset should allow the Lakers to have a good bench unit, and his ability to space the floor will make the LA offense very productive.
