Juventus increase Liverpool target’s asking price after ‘exceptional’ form

Juventus have reportedly raised Federico Chiesa’s asking price to €70m (£60m), with Liverpool interested in signing the winger.

According to CalcioMercato, the Old Lady have hiked up their demands for the 25-year-old winger after an ‘exceptional’ start to the season, with Chiesa scoring four goals in five Serie A matches.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for the Italian international in recent weeks, with Chiesa potentially viewed by the Reds as a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

However, with Juventus now increasing their demands for the attacker, it might be harder for Liverpool to bring Chiesa to Anfield if Salah was to leave Merseyside next year.

Indeed, the winger is simply world-class when fully fit and firing, with Chiesa back to his best for Juventus after nearly a year out through injury.

And for Liverpool, £60m might be worth it for Chiesa, especially if Salah leaves Anfield next year in a transfer that could be worth triple what Juventus are demanding for the 25-year-old.

Liverpool are no doubt planning for a future without Salah, and on their list of potential replacements is where we could find Chiesa.

The Juventus star ticks a lot of boxes Jurgen Klopp is looking for in a wide-attacker, and even with Juventus increasing their asking price for the forward, Liverpool should still consider Chiesa.

£60m for a player who has been brilliant this season and is not even at their peak could be great business for Liverpool, and Chiesa could flourish in the Premier League at Anfield.
