Spurs hit by ‘six-week’ injury blow and face Maddison wait ahead of Liverpool

Injury updates for Tottenham as Brennan Johnson could miss game against Liverpool and there is concern over James Maddison
The Wales international, who signed from the North Londoners in a deal worth around £45m earlier this month, was withdrawn in the second half of the North London derby after complaining of an issue with his hamstring.
According to Football. London, Johnson could be sidelined for up to six weeks depending on the severity of the diagnosis, which is expected to be detailed in the coming days.
The 23-year-old could be joined on the sidelines this weekend by James Maddison, who was also withdrawn with injury at the Emirates after jolting his knee in a challenge with Jorginho.
In addition to Johnson, it is also claimed that England international Maddison will face a scan in North London this week before a decision his made on his availability for this weekend’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Speaking after the game, Maddison confirmed he was injured, saying: “Yeah I jolted my knee, Jorginho kicked my knee and my leg just jolted a bit.
“I’ve done about six interviews and haven’t actually seen the physios yet so I’m going to get it checked out in a sec.”
Before their trip to North London on Saturday, Liverpool face Leicester City in the League Cup on Wednesday.
