Jurgen Klopp says 24-year-old Liverpool player has improved one area of his game
Jurgen Klopp has lauded Darwin Nunez’s defensive work, with the Liverpool manager noticing a massive difference in the forward’s presence at the back.
Speaking to the press via the Daily Mail’s Lewis Steele, the Anfield boss praised the 24-year-old striker, who was again on the scoresheet today as Liverpool beat West Ham 3-1.
Nunez finished off an excellent move started by Alexis Mac Allister, with the forward’s all-round play catching the eye of Klopp.
The Uruguay international has been one of Liverpool’s best players this season, and Nunez’s work on the training pitch is starting to yield some impressive results for the Reds.
Indeed, Nunez made a big statement today in becoming Liverpool’s leading man in attacker, and Klopp was very impressed with what he saw from the forward.

Klopp said: “Massive steps in the last few weeks. He’s a threat. His goal was pretty good, right? He was strong, always available. The defensive work he puts in now, that’s the main difference. Really good.”
Nunez showed signs of brilliance last season in his first year at Liverpool, and the striker has this campaign already taken his game to a whole new level.
The South American chaos merchant has been sensational for Liverpool this season, and Nunez fleshing out his game under Klopp is nothing but a good thing.
Whilst more fans might demand more from the striker, Nunez is doing an excellent job at the moment, with the Uruguay international enjoying his best football yer as a Liverpool player.
