Media blown away by £80,000-a-week Tottenham player on international duty

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies was on international duty with Wales this week, and the performance of the Spurs star has been hailed in the media.

Ben Davies started for Wales against Latvia away from home in European Championship Qualifying Group D on Monday evening.

Davies started on the left of a three-man central defence system in which Connor Roberts and Neco Williams were the two wing-backs.

During his time at Tottenham Hotspur in recent seasons, Davies has been playing on the left of a three-man defence.

Media praise for Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies for Wales vs Latvia

The £80,000-a-week (Spotrac) 30-year-old is a left-back by trade.

Davies may not be a regular for Spurs now, but the defender is a big player for Wales and does tend to turn up on the big occasions.

And he was very good against Latvia
WalesOnline has raved about Davies for his performance for Wales against Latvia.

While rating his performance at 7 out of 10, the report noted: “Had an early, headed effort saved well.

“Was his usual, calm self on the left-hand side of the defence

During his time on the pitch, Davies took two shots and one of them was on target, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 86.2%, won five headers, took 70 touches, and made one tackle and two clearances.

Although Ben Davies is not a regular in the Tottenham Hotspur first team at the moment, he is still an important player and will play his role in the coming weeks and months.

We have seen during the international break just how good Davies is.

The Welshman is at the top of his game at the moment, and we believe that he could help Tottenham finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

Davies has made two substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played once in the EFL Cup for Tottenham so far this season.
