‘Watch out’: Liverpool fans sent Jurgen Klopp-Germany message they will love

Andy Townsend says he ‘can’t see’ Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool to become Germany’s next manager after Hansi Flick’s sacking.

Less than 12 months before Germany host Euro 2024, the struggling nation have decided to part ways with HansI Flick.

To no-one’s surprise, Jurgen Klopp’s name has been mentioned front and centre amid the talk of who will be Germany’s next manager.

But former Aston Villa captain Townsend says Liverpool’s man in the dugout will take that role ‘down the line’, but it’s not happening anytime soon, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (12/09/23 at 6:55 am).

Liverpool fans have just gone through a summer where one of their key players, Mohamed Salah, was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia – there was talk that the owners wanted him gone.

And now they might get the same with Klopp, with Townsend sharing his thoughts.

Will Klopp be Germany’s next manager?
“Again, I can’t see him walking out of Liverpool,” said Townsend. “I don’t see him leaving anytime soon.

“But I do see Jurgen Klopp being the international team manager down the line. But I don’t see it happening right now.

Townsend added later on in the show about Klopp being Germany’s number one target: “Wow, ooof. I don’t think so. I can’t see that.”

When Klopp became Liverpool manager, it had been nearly 30 years since the Merseyside giants were champions of England.

The Anfield faithful were craving for the glory days of the past to be relived again.

And even though Klopp didn’t spend in a wild manner like his rivals, the £302k-a-week man (Planet Football) delivered the lot for the Liverpool fans, including the Premier League title and the Champions League in Madrid.
