Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah will fight for his place amid lingering links with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Sources indicate that Trevoh Chalobah will be sold by Chelsea in January despite his desire to fight for his place.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has been discussing Chalobah’s transfer situation on Twitter.
Romano claims that Chalobah rejected a £25million move to Nottingham Forest before the transfer deadline because he wanted to join Bayern Munich.
Chalobah will now fight for his place but Romano claims he has spoken to sources who claim that the defender is expected to leave the club in January.

This will be interesting news for Tottenham.
Romano claimed on deadline day that Spurs had made a very late approach to take Chalobah on loan.
Chelsea unsurprisingly didn’t sanction that move but it sounds like Chalobah will be frozen out at Stamford Bridge.
Football London claim that Chalobah has been told that he faces being left out of the squad until January having refused to leave before the deadline.
That report adds that Tottenham are long-term admirers of Chalobah and may rekindle their interest in January.
Chalobah may well fight to stay at Chelsea but the Blues are keen to sell – and Spurs may be ready to pounce.
Chalobah ideally needs to prioritise first-team football, but the chance to rejoin Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich was too good to ignore.
Bayern may well move on now and Chalobah quite simply needs to quit Chelsea in order to play regularly moving forward.
Axel Disasi’s summer arrival from Monaco was pretty much the end for Chalobah, with Chelsea spending considerable money on a new right-sided centre back.
Chalobah just won’t get the role he needs at Chelsea and Tottenham – keen to land a homegrown centre back in 2024 – may well give him the chance he needs.
