Liverpool tried to sign Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United

Newcastle, who are playing in the UEFA Champions League this season, turned down the offer from the Reds.

According to AS, the Magpies gave a “resounding no” as an answer to the Merseyside club’s bid.

Newcastle, like Liverpool, are aiming to at least finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

Eddie Howe’s side will also hope at least to challenge for the Premier League title this campaign.

Liverpool could struggle to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes

We think that Liverpool could struggle to sign Bruno Guimaraes from Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the coming transfer windows.

It is very unlikely that Newcastle will sell any of their best players in the January transfer window or even next summer.

And Brazil international midfielder Bruno is a hugely important player for the Magpies.

Newcastle are a wealthy club now and have Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) as their owners.

If Newcastle turned down a bid of £100 million for one of their players, then it tells you that they mean business.

There is also speculation Newcastle are in talks with the £160,000-a-week (SalarySport) star over a new deal.

Bruno has made 53 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The 25-year-old Brazil international midfielder has scored nine goals and given six assists in those games.
