£13m Bayern Munich target wants to sign for Tottenham Hotspur instead

Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Luka Vuskovic despite Bayern Munich holding talks for the Hajduk Split defender.

Luka Vuskovic could have joined Harry Kane at Bayern Munich but is instead heading to Tottenham Hotspur instead.

That is according to 90min, who claim that Vuskovic is snubbing interest from a host of elite European clubs.

It’s stated that Barcelona and Bayern Munich held talks with Vuskovic’s representatives ahead of a potential deal.

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain even made offers earlier this year but Vuskovic has now made his decision.

Vuskovic has decided to join Tottenham after Hajduk gave him permission to pick his next destination, leaving him to snub the likes of Bayern. Images

The news of Vuskovic joining Tottenham was exciting enough before all the other interested clubs were named.

The 16-year-old has emerged as one of the top wonderkids in Europe and has already played a handful of first-team games for Hajduk.

Those players usually head elsewhere but Tottenham are set to land a major coup with fans hugely impressed.

That Bayern held talks to sign Vuskovic too just makes this even sweeter, with the defender deciding to snub the notion of joining forces with Harry Kane in Bavaria.

Kane has left Tottenham in search of trophies with Bayern but Spurs fans will claim Vuskovic’s transfer decision as a small win over the German giants.

How much are Tottenham paying to sign Luka Vuskovic?

The report notes that Tottenham have now agreed a deal worth around £13million, a price tag which was met by a number of clubs.

Vuskovic has picked Tottenham though, and this is a major deal for Spurs.

£13million for a 16-year-old is bold, but even more so when you factor in that Vuskovic can’t even play for Tottenham until 2025.

Post-Brexit rules mean that English clubs cannot sign overseas talent before the age of 18, so Vuskovic faces a long wait for a Tottenham debut.

Investing this kind of money in such a young player who won’t even play for the club for the best part of two years is astonishing stuff – but Tottenham will be convinced that they have signed a future star.
