Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs on red alert as Germany ‘dream’ of Klopp appointment
Liverpool could be handed a huge blow in the coming weeks as Germany have looked to land Jurgen Klopp as the new men’s national team head coach

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham will be on red alert as Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is being targeted by the German men’s national team for their vacant head coach role, according to reports.
The 56-year-old has had huge success at Borussia Dortmund before he made the switch to Merseyside in 2015, playing a huge part in their transformation. Bringing along his Gegenpressing style of play, Klopp made a team that made intensity their main aim and pressing their main playmaker within games.
The signings of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane up front proved to be huge additions while big money moves for Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker shored up the defence. The German coach then proceeded to push serial league winners Manchester City all the way on several occasions.
Finally, the Reds confirmed themselves as Premier League champions in 2020 and crowned off their achievements in the league, following their success in the Champions League the year prior. Victories in the FA Cup, EFL Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup have only solidified their place in the history books.
However, in the past year there has been plenty of change at Liverpool as some of the old guard was replaced with the new in the most recent transfer window. There’s still some work to do, but after a season of struggle, many believe that the Anfield outfit are gearing up for another reign at the top.
Those chances could well be spoiled by the German men’s national team, though, as journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft claims that they are “dreaming” of appointing Klopp after the dismissal of Hansi Flick. It remains to be seen whether he would take the job, should it be on offer.
However, it could come as a huge boost to clubs in the Premier League should he leave, given his importance in transforming Liverpool. For Arsenal, it could remove a huge obstacle in their push to win the title, having gone very close last season under Mikel Arteta.
Tottenham have lofty ambitions of their own, having impressed under new boss Ange Postecoglou, opening up at least discussions over a top four place, if not more. Meanwhile Chelsea have had a difficult start, but European ambitions are still on the cards for Mauricio Pochettino.
With Liverpool often competing in the same ranks, any blow to them could well prove to be a huge boost to all three London clubs, who will be keeping a keen eye on developments.
