The summer transfer window is closed – at least in England – with those in Saudi Arabia still capable of making bids.

The Premier League clubs finished their recruitment on Friday with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United completing deadline day deals for the likes of Ryan Gravenberch and Sofyan Amrabat. Now though they could see Saudi clubs eye their prized assets.

That is the problem Liverpool face with Mohamed Salah, who has already been the subject of a failed bid with a new – potentially world-record bid – coming in for the Egyptian, who Jurgen Klopp maintains is going nowhere.

Kylian Mbappe has agreed to give up his loyalty bonus of €100M to PSG so he can play again this season.

However, he still does not intend to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2024, meaning he can leave for free next summer.

The Newcastle United midfielder has returned to his club for treatment after suffering an injury in training.

Anderson had played for Scotland at under-age levels before he switched to England at under-19 level. He returned to play for the Scots at under-21 level – but is yet to win a senior cap.

United share price plummets
The Manchester United share price has dropped more than 20% this week, amid reports the Glazer family are set to scrap all plans to sell up, Sky Sports are reporting.

The share price closed at $23.66 on Friday and has dropped to as low as $18.83 on Tuesday with it currently at $19.02. The New York Stock Exchange was closed on Monday because it was Labor Day.

Savage calls for Sancho talks
