RESPONSE; Mohamed Salah’s agent has responded when asked if he’s agreed to leave Liverpool

The agent of Mohamed Salah has refused to comment on speculation that his client is set to leave Liverpool.

After a bid was rejected on deadline day yesterday, speculation looks set to rumble on that Salah will depart Anfield within the week. With the Saudi Arabian Pro League deadline stretching on until September 7th, these are a nervous few days for Liverpool fans.

Taking a look at the ongoing saga today, The Athletic report that having seen their offer turned down, Al Ittihad are determined to keep on pushing for Salah.

To gain some clarity on the situation, the publication claim to have asked Mo’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, to comment on reports that the Egyptian has agreed personal terms with the Saudis.

However, despite having publicly dismissed claims earlier this summer, this time Abbas reportedly did not respond.

No comment from Salah camp
One of the most worrying aspects of Al Ittihad’s pursuit of Salah has been the silence from the player’s side.

Obviously, Mo has never been one to declare the ins and outs of discussions. During the contract stand-off last year though, the 31-year-old did make several public statements, though.

Before the Champions League final, for example, Salah said that he categorically would be at Liverpool the following season.

That was before he’d even agreed to put pen to paper on his new contract.

Abbas himself has never been shy to call out rumours on social media. So, between them, it would have been nice to hear something this week.

Instead, the pair have stayed quiet. We didn’t even get a post-match question put to Salah after the win over Newcastle United last week.

It will be interesting to see if that changes when Aston Villa come to Anfield on Sunday. Certainly, if Mo is faced with the cameras, there’s only question that’s going to be asked. Somehow, we don’t think that will be allowed to happen…
