SPURS CONSIDERING MOVE FOR £25M POSTECOGLOU FAVOURITE

Jota could reunite with Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur just months after leaving Celtic.

Tottenham are in the market for another attacking player before there transfer window.

Harry Kane has moved on to Bayern Munich but Tottenham may go for a versatile forward rather than a direct Kane replacement.

Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson is the top target but a deal for the Welsh attacker won’t be easy.

Tottenham need to have alternative targets in mind just in case they can’t land Johnson.

With that in mind, Spurs could go for a player who knows boss Ange Postecoglou very, very well.

90Min report that Tottenham have been alerted to the potential availability of Al Ittihad winger Jota.

A bizarre sequence of events has seen Al Itthad sign Jota in a club-record, £25million deal from Celtic earlier this summer, but he could leave already.

There have been rumours of a loan move away in order to pave the way for Al Ittihad to sign Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

Tottenham are allegedly ‘considering’ a move for Jota, potentially reuniting him with boss Postecoglou.

Jota loved playing under Ange Postecoglou at Celtic

Jota joined Celtic on loan from Benfica in 2021, the summer in which Postecoglou became Bhoys manager.

The Portuguese wide man racked up 28 goals and 26 assists in 83 games under Postecoglou having trend his loan move permanent last summer.

Jota even raved about Postecoglou’s style of football, calling his approach ‘tremendous’ in quotes published by Celts Are Here.

The quotes also highlighted Jota stating that playing under a manager like Postecoglou was ‘really important’ to him having grown up with a similar approach to football.

If Postecoglou called Jota and targeted a reunion at Tottenham, you have to imagine that he would jump at the chance.

Leaving Saudi Arabia this soon after arriving still feels unlikely for Jota, but even if a loan move is a possibility, Spurs and Postecoglou will surely be right in the mix.
