Tottenham Hotspur have backed away from a potential move to snap up New England Revolution talent Noel Buck.
Noel Buck was wanted by Tottenham Hotspur but a move now appears to be on the back burner.
That is according to The Athletic’s Tom Bogert, who has been speaking on Caught Offside TV.
Bogert claims that Tottenham have been showing an interest in signing Buck from New England Revolution.
However, Tottenham were looking for a cheap deal for Buck, before he became a household name in Major League Soccer.
Unfortunately for Spurs, Buck has now become a regular for New England Revolution and has now racked up 29 first-team appearances.
Bogert suggests that Buck has ‘played himself out of their price point’ with his asking price now rising and rising.
Tottenham seemingly don’t want to spend millions on an 18-year-old and that means a deal for Buck seems unlikely at this point.
Maybe Tottenham will return to the race at some point but Bogert believes that Buck will now join a different English club this winter.
Buck is also at the centre of an international tug-of-war with both the US and England attempting to secure his services.
“Noel Buck, I think that he’s absolutely going to end up somewhere in England because he has a UK passport,” said Bogert. “I know for a fact that the England Under-19’s tried to call him up in the summer, it was decided for him to stay with New England, where he was starting.”
“He’s a US youth international but he’s eligible for England, England – I’m almost certain – are going to call him up in September, so that’s another name to watch as an American-English dual national. Tottenham had been interested in him, but he very quickly kind of played himself out of their price point because they were looking to get somebody very cheap before he really made his debut and made his name in MLS. This is a player that’s going to cost $5million to $10million, so he’s probably going to go to a different English team, almost definitely this winter,” he added.

Buck hails from Massachusetts over in the United States, so it’s no great surprise that he has come up win the New England Revolution setup.
Buck joined the Revs academy in 2017 and featured prominently for the second team in the USL League One.
The teenager made his MLS debut in August of 2022, coming off the bench in a 1-0 win over D.C. United.
Buck made strides very quickly, making his first Revs start against Chicago Fire at the end of August 2022.
By September 9th, Buck had his first MLS goal as he scored the winner against New York City.
Now an important player in the New England Revolution midfield, Buck looks set for a big future – a future which mostly likely lies away from the US.
Tottenham have been interested in Buck for a while now having invited him to train with the club at the end of the 2022 MLS season.
