Here is how we rated the Tottenham players in the team’s 2-0 Premier League win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadiums
Cool as you like midway inside the first half when under pressure as his pass to Micky van de Ven started a swift attack that almost resulted in a goal. Made a great save from Ryan Christie shortly before half-time but really didn’t have much to do after that. 7
Continued at right-back and put in a good shift as he looked to contribute in the final third. 7
Cristian Romero
Contributed with some timely headers and interventions and dealt well up against the power of Dominic Solanke. Another powerful display from the vice-captain as he led from the back. 8

Micky van de Ven
Under pressure on a handful of occasions but kept his cool and passed out from the back to get Tottenham moving upfield. A very accomplished performance from the new signing, with a couple of very good tackles thrown in for good measure. 8
Looked to attack at every opportunity and also played his part with some very good defending up against Antoine Semenyo. Showcased his best qualities for the second goal with a lovely run and link-up with Son Heung-min before picking out Dejan Kulusevski. 8
Toyed with Bournemouth at times in the first half, notably Christie, and played his part in midfield with some good play. Almost gifted Bournemouth one prior to the break with a quick free-kick that went wrong. Had to walk a tightrope after the break after picking up a booking and was replaced in the final 15 minutes. 7
Pape Matar Sarr
Had a huge say in Tottenham’s opener with a superb pass to split the Bournemouth defence to play in James Maddison. Made way on the hour mark as Tottenham looked for more control in midfield with the hosts stepping things up. 7
James Maddison
Started the game following his injury scare last weekend and missed a golden opportunity from close range to give Spurs the lead after 15 minutes but made no mistake seconds later as he converted beyond Neto. Was running the show for Tottenham at times and a level above. Superb performance. 9
Dejan Kulusevski
On the fringe of the action in the first half with the Swede seeing very little of the ball. Was there when it mattered after the break, though, as he nipped in at the front post to finish off Udogie’s cross. A lot more lively after his goal. 7
Richarlison
Led the line for Spurs once again and should have done better ten minutes before half-time after Maddison had slipped him in with a fine pass, before hitting the side netting with a header moments later. Impressed with his build-up play in the first half, including a flicked header to Kulusevski, but his performance after the break was frustrating as he picked up a needless yellow card and lost the ball when Spurs looked to hit Bournemouth on the break. Desperately needs a goal to come his way. 6
Son Heung-min
Caused Bournemouth a few problems in the first half and had a say in the second goal with his pass picking out Udogie, who in turn teed up Kulusevski. 7
Substitutes
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Pape Matar Sarr, 59)
Introduced on the hour mark to help Tottenham gain more control in midfield with Bournemouth coming more into the contest. Did exactly that as the Lilywhites left the south coast with all three points. 7
Ivan Perisic (Richarlison, 59)
Played his part in Tottenham’s second moments after coming on as he linked up with Udogie. Once again had an impact after entering the fray. 7
Giovani Lo Celso (James Maddison, 74)
Handed his first minutes of the season but unfortunately didn’t have that much of an impact in attack. 5
Oliver Skipp (Yves Bissouma, 74)
Came on for the closing stages and impressed on the ball with some passing and movement. 6
Ben Davies (Destiny Udogie, 82)
Got the final ten minutes under his belt. 5
