Liverpool getting closer to making a ‘perfect’ signing, talks now really advanced

Liverpool are advancing in talks to sign Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich.
Gravenberch has been linked with Liverpool throughout the summer. But with Bayern unwilling to sanction his sale, nothing concrete has materialised.
According to a report from 90min today though, the Reds could be about to make a breakthrough.
They claim that there’s a feeling at Anfield that the German champions stance towards selling Gravenberch is ‘softening.’
Having reportedly communicated his wish for a move to the Premier League, the 21-year-old is said to be desperate to make it into the Netherlands’ Euro 2024 squad.
As a result, it’s claimed that Bayern are now tempted to move Gravenberch on. A fee of ‘just over £20m’ is mooted, which looks like being a terrific deal for Liverpool.
Manchester United are also well-known to be interested in bringing the former Ajax man to England. But according to 90min, Liverpool’s talks with Bayern are at a more advanced stage.
Liverpool advance for Gravenberch
Although he may not be top of many fans’ wish list’s this summer, Gravenberch would be a good addition for Liverpool.
He hasn’t had the best of times at Bayern, but there’s a reason he’s so highly rated by Jurgen Klopp.
The Dutchman can more-or-less do it all as a midfielder. Interestingly, he has the profile to suggest that Klopp could even be profiling him as a future defensive midfielder.
Certainly, it’s fairly easy to see why journalist Fabrizio Romano said Gravenberch would be a ‘perfect’ signing for Liverpool.
Part of that would also be to do with the Netherlands international’s price of course. If they can get him for around the £20m mark, they’ll be very happy indeed.
At that kind of price, there is little downside for Liverpool. There’ll be hard pushed to find a better value midfield signing.
For the moment, it looks like it might be Gravenberch or no one for the Reds. If that is the case, there’s really no contest. Bring him in.
