Tottenham are still looking to sign another defender before the summer transfer window slams shut next week. Ange Postecoglou has already welcomed six new arrivals to the club and transformed Spurs’ play style following Antonio Conte’s exit last term.
James Maddison, Micky Van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, Alejo Veliz, Ashley Phillips and Manor Solomon have all joined the club – along with Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro, who had their loan moves made permanent. Harry Kane’s time at N17 came to an end just a day before the new Premier League season started as the England captain joined Bayern Munich.

Kane’s exit has left a huge void in attack with Postecoglou hoping that Richarlison, Son Heung-min, Maddison and Kulusevski can share the responsibility of scoring goals this season. Perr Schuurs
Torino defender Perr Schuurs could be set for a move to the Premier League amid interest from Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool. The 23-year-old only joined the Italian outfit last summer from Ajax for roughly £7.7million but he has greatly impressed which has prompted links to England’s top flight.

The Italian club would be willing to start negotiations for the Netherlands international at €20-25million (£17-£21.3m) with Liverpool quoted €40million (£35m) following their unsuccessful bid. Schuurs made 36 appearances for Torino last term, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

His ability on the ball and physicallity would suit Postecoglou’s tactics and he is seen as the most concrete option for Spurs at present.

Spurs had been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba earlier this summer. The 24-year-old has impressed during his time in Germany and has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
Tapsoba has made over 100 appearances in the Bundesliga and has proven he has the quality to compete for a top club in Europe. The Burkina Faso international is a right-footed centre-back meaning he could come in to challenge Romero for a starting spot alongside Van de Ven.
Tosin Adarabioyo
Tosin Adarabioyo made 25 appearances for Fulham in the Premier League last term and is capable of playing as a right centre-back or on the left. His ability to play out from defence with either foot means he can provide cover for both Romero and Van de Ven.
Monaco have been heavily linked with a move for the English defender, but Spurs remain interested in signing the 25-year-old. Adarabioyo’s height would be beneficial for Postecoglou’s side to help defend from set pieces and compliment Van de Ven’s physicality and pace.

Clement Lenglet
Clement Lenglet has been linked with a return to N17 after his loan spell ended at the end of last season. The Frenchman looks set to leave Barcelona this summer, but so far Spurs have been unable to agree a fee with the Catalan giants.
Lenglet is already familiar with the club and would provide suitable cover in a key area for Postecoglou this season.
