Tottenham continued their unbeaten start to life under Ange Postecoglou on Saturday with an impressive 2-0 win over Manchester United. Pape Matar Sarr’s first goal for the club was followed by a late Lisandro Martinez own goal to hand Spurs their first win of the Premier League season.

The afternoon in north London saw a number of key moments including James Maddison’s eye-catching home debut for the club. After his two assists against Brentford last week, the summer signing was at the heart of everything Spurs did against Erik ten Hag’s United alongside Yves Bissouma and Sarr in midfield.

However, despite playing the entirety of the contest and appearing happy at full-time, a worrying injury concern emerged after Maddison was spotted walking through the mixed zone on crutches.

The former Leicester City man was also wearing a protective boot on his left-foot. However, the 26-year-old told journalists as he walked by that it was just precautionary.

The Maddison concern came after Postecoglou’s post-match press conference, meaning supporters will have to wait until the Australian speaks to the media next week ahead of the trip to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

In more positive news, defender Cristian Romero returned to the Spurs’ XI having been forced off in last week’s 2-2 draw with Brentford following a head collision.

Elsewhere, Tottenham continue to be without a number of players. Tanguy Ndombele remains out after picking up an injury in pre-season while fellow midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur continues to recover from a knee injury sustained last season.

Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Bryan Gil (groin) are the other first-team members while Troy Parrot and Alfie Whiteman are also expected to miss next week’s trip south.
