Liverpool believe £70m Premier League star is their most realistic signing

Liverpool reportedly believe Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure is the most realistic transfer target the Reds could sign this month.

According to the Daily Mail, the £70m-rated midfielder is back on Liverpool’s radar having this week missed out on both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea.

Doucoure had been linked with a move to Liverpool earlier in the window, yet rumours over a move had died down considerably with the Anfield side pushing for Caicedo and Lavia, only to lose both transfer races.

As a result, the Reds are now back in for Doucoure, who Liverpool believe could be the most realistic signing they can pull off in the coming weeks.

The Mali international only joined Palace last summer yet has since established himself as one of the most exciting midfielders in the Premier League.

And now, Liverpool could make a move for the 23-year-old, though Palace could put up a fight to keep Doucoure given that the Eagles now know the Reds have money to spend this summer.

Liverpool have to push as hard as they can to sign Doucoure

Liverpool have their backs against the walls in the final two weeks of the transfer window, with every club now aware that they have the money to spend in their quest to sign a defensive midfielder.

As a result, Palace will be resilient in their bid to keep hold of Doucoure, which means Liverpool will have to do all they can to push the Eagles to the breaking point for the Mali international.

With the player potentially interested in a move, Liverpool know they have to do everything possible to get a deal over the line, with Doucoure having the potential to be a fantastic signing for the Reds.
