Tottenham Hotspur now want a midfielder James Maddison has called a ‘proper player’ Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur have really stepped things up in the transfer window in recent days.
Micky Van de Ven, Ashley Phillips and Alejo Veliz have all signed over the past week, and it looks as though Spurs aren’t finished yet.
Indeed, while Tottenham aren’t all that close to anything right now, they’re still scouring the market, and according to Football London, Spurs are now keen on Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.
The England international has made quite the name for himself over the past 18 months at Palace with his exciting midfield showings..
Eze is your archetypal flair player. He’s an incredible dribbler, and he’s seemingly learned every trick in the book.
His good showings over the past year have earned him his first England call-up, and after playing his first match for the Three Lions, he earned some special praise from a Tottenham player.
Indeed, after his England debut, Maddison posted an Instagram story hailing Eze, calling him a ‘proper player’ after making his international bow.
The midfielder has so much technical ability it’s untrue, and while he’s not played at the very top level just yet, he’s taken everything in his career so far in his stride.
Of course, there are questions around whether or not he’d fit into this Spurs team alongside Maddison. After all, playing two midfielders who are so attacking in tandem is a huge risk, but if any manager is willing to take such a risk, it’s Ange Postecoglou.
We have no idea how Tottenham will look if Eze signs for the north London club, but we can guarantee that it would be entertaining to watch for fans and neutrals alike.
