Pundit wants West Ham United to sign four British players amid David Moyes transfer stance

Frank McAvennie believes there are four British players that West Ham can sign this summer using the funds from the sale of Declan Rice.
The pundit has suggested that Hammers manager David Moyes wants to bring in British talent ahead of the new season.
Midfield maestro Rice left the London Stadium earlier in the window to join Premier League rivals Arsenal for £105million.
- And former player McAvennie has urged his old club to use that money wisely with deals for British stars Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, James Ward-Prowse and Conor Gallagher.
The Hammers have had strong ties to all four players in recent weeks, and are now “closer than ever” to brining in two of them; Maguire and McTominay.
According to journalist Alan Nixon (4 August), the Manchester United pair are undergoing “long-distance medicals” ahead of a switch to the London Stadium.
Speaking to West Ham Zone, McAvennie said: “I think Maguire would be good. He would settle in a lot better at West Ham than he has at Manchester United, because everything he does there is scrutinised.
“He needs a new start, and the fans at West Ham would love him. They know what he can do, so they’d give him a chance.
“McTominay would be brilliant, he does great for Scotland. I can’t understand why they don’t just go out and get these players.
“Moyes wants to bring in British players, and there are four right there in Maguire, McTominay, Gallagher and Ward-Prowse.
“And that’s the money spent, you could get the four of them for £105million. That would really improve that team. That is four players that would enhance the squad.”
