The 6ft 2ins centre forward is only 19 but has scored 19 goals in 59 appearances for Rosario with 11 coming last season, and also impressed for his country during the recent Under-20 World Cup where he bagged three goals in four outings.
Romano wrote on Twitter/X: “Alejo Véliz to Tottenham, here we go! Talented 2003 striker will join Spurs on long term deal, verbally agreed in the morning despite interest from another top club
“Package worth around €15m plus add-ons to Rosario Central. Medical to take place in the next days.”
Nottingham Forest, AC Milan and Roma had all also been linked with a move for the striker, however, it is Tottenham who have made their move to secure his signature (The Sun)
Véliz will follow in the footsteps of Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Manor Solomon in becoming Tottenham’s latest signing of the summer transfer window.
Italian side Torino have previously also had a bid in the region of £6million rejected by Rosario (London World).

Spurs look to have bagged themselves one of the brightest talents in South America and will be hoping that Véliz can have a similar impact as to what Julian Alvarez has enjoyed at Manchester City.
