A report from Saudi Arabia claims Liverpool midfielder Fabinho could miss out on his move to Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad due to legislation regarding the import of certain breeds of animal into the country.
Fabinho – subject of a £40m bid from Al-Ittihad – owns two French bulldogs and it is suggested he is seeking ‘clarity’ over the situation regarding his beloved family pets.
A Saudi Arabian document leaked on social media suggested certain dogs are only allowed to enter the country if they are to be used for hunting, serve as a guard dog or if they are seeing dogs for the blind.
There is a suggestion the transfer could collapse due to the unusual issue, although reports later on Sunday claimed the president of Al-Ittihad had landed in London to press ahead with confirming a deal with all parties.
Fabinho joined Liverpool from Monaco in 2018 in a £43.7m deal and has went on to lift the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Super Cup under Jurgen Klopp.
