Lakers Injury Report: Star Center Downgraded to Out for LA-Thunder Showdown
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers will be down another player tonight as they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on the second night of a back-to-back. Center Jaxson Hayes is out due to left elbow soreness, and the LA front-court depth takes a hit against a lengthy Thunder team.
On the bright side, forward Max Christie will play in the game, and he should provide a defensive approach to the team. LA is going to need all hands on deck to deal with this young Oklahoma City team.
The Lakers are coming off a big win over the Detroit Pistons last night, and they will be looking to take their second game in a row. With a win, they would finish their mini road trip 3-1 and would grab their 12th win of the season.
The Lakers will have their hands full tonight against the Thunder, who have improved very much this year. They are led by star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is going to make life very tough on LA.
LA is going to have to figure out a way to contain him, which could be by doubling, but they then run the risk of leaving open shooters. Oklahoma City is currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference, one game ahead of the Lakers.
Getting a win over them would be massive for this team, and it would see them climb the standings. Hopefully, the Lakers can put together a solid outing, and pick up the win before heading back home.
