Liverpool sent ‘tough’ Nottingham Forest warning ahead of Premier League clash

Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive ahead of the Reds’ trip to Liverpool on Sunday

Kostas Tsimikas has warned his Liverpool teammates to expect a “tough” Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are unbeaten at home in all competitions for a year and are emerging as genuine title challengers this season after a disappointing 2022/23 campaign which saw them finish fifth.

Steve Cooper’s side meanwhile have also enjoyed a relatively positive start to the season although they are without a win in their last five fixtures. Forest are also without a win at Anfield since February 1969.

“Every game in the Premier League is very hard, so it will be tough for us,” he told Premier League Productions ahead of the contest.

“But I think everybody is 100 per cent focused for this game. We work really hard every day for this game.

“I think it will be very tough, but also the team will be 100 per cent there, 100 per cent focused and 100 per cent ready to face this challenge.”

When asked about their strong form at home, he added: “[It’s] because of the fans, the extra motivation they give you every single time you play there. Everybody is up on their toes, and they always try to push you, to give you absolutely everything, all the power you need for the game. I think that’s the main thing.

“Me as a player, when I play here [at Anfield] I feel this all the time in the home games – I have extra power, extra running, extra needs for my game. So, I think that’s the most important [thing].”
