Report: Spurs have now offered ‘a crazy transfer fee’ for defensive target
Aksam have now claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have made a substantial offer to sign Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey.
Multiple Turkish outlets have talked up Tottenham’s interest in Galatasaray centre-back Victor Nelsson over the past couple of months (Hurriyet).
It was journalist Zeki Uzundurukan who first told Transfer Plus (06/07/23 via GS Gazete) last week that Spurs are also eyeing Nelsson’s teammate Boey.
Uzundurukan stated that Galatasaray vice president Erden Timur even recently travelled to London and spoke to Spurs about their interest in the pair.
Askam have now also backed up Tottenham’s interest in the right-back and centre-back.
The publication asserts that Galatasaray have made it clear to Spurs that they would have to pay €50m (£42.6m) for a combined deal for the Dane and the Frenchman.
It is explained that Tottenham are now ready to push ahead with a move for Boey, with the Lilywhites even alleged to have submitted ‘a crazy transfer fee’ for the 22-year-old.
The report adds that the right-back could now say ‘goodbye’ to the Istanbul club in light of Spurs’ offer.
Turkish outlets such as Askam have a reputation for exaggerating transfer stories and reporting even preliminary negotiations as either a bid or a done deal.
So unless we receive confirmation of Tottenham’s interest in Nelsson and Boey from reliable sources like Fabrizio Romano, Spurs fans must take these updates with a pinch of salt.
