Liverpool are interested in Rennes and Belgian winger Jeremy Doku
As per French outlet L’Equipe (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are keeping Rennes and Belgium winger Jeremy Doku in their sights during this summer transfer window.
Doku was a Reds target back in 2018, when the club gave him a tour of the training ground and Anfield in a bid to convince him to sign.
The report also adds that the Belgian’s future at Rennes is not assured. His contract there expires in the summer of 2025 (Transfermarkt).
It seems like things haven’t changed a lot since then. The Reds are still interested in bringing the Belgian winger to Merseyside.

The 21-year-old made 35 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals and assisting four (Transfermarkt). He has struggled with injuries in the last couple of years, which probably affected his consistency as well.
He has missed 41 games due to various setbacks in 2021/22 and 2022/23. He is one of those right-footed wingers who is comfortable operating on the right as well.
For Rennes, he has started 51 games on the right wing and just 10 on the left. Doku is a rapid player who can go past defenders through his dribbling, has a good shot in him and can create chances for others in the final third.

Mind you, he is still only 21 and should only get better from here provided injuries leave his back. The Belgian has all the talent to rip defences around the continent.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool are compelled to sign the Rennes winger this summer. The club has to focus on getting midfielders and defenders in first before thinking about adding a player to an already-packed forward line.
