Tottenham Hotspur face something of an injury crisis when they host Aston Villa in the Premier League after the November international break.

Villa themselves were handed two major setbacks at the start of the season, as Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendia both picked up serious knee injuries, while Jacob Ramsey and Alex Moreno suffered setbacks in their respective recoveries from injury. Moreno could make his first appearance of the season against Spurs, while Jacob Ramsey is close to returning to training at Bodymoor Heath.

Tottenham could be without up to nine players for the match as Ange Postecoglou manages a number of injury issues and two suspensions. Cristian Romero picked up a three-match ban in Tottenham’s 4-1 home defeat to Chelsea last week, while Yves Bissouma will serve a one-match ban against Villa after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the 2-1 loss at Wolves.

James Maddison and Micky van de Ven both picked up injuries in the defeat to Chelsea and will be out until the New Year. They joined Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon and Manor Solomon on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Richarlison has undergone surgery on his groin after battling with the injury for a period of time. The latest possible casualty for Spurs is Destiny Udogie, who left the Italy national team due to injury.

Italy boss Luciano Spalletti said: “Destiny Udogie is not there (in the squad for this international break) because he is injured.” However, our sister title football.london understands his withdrawal was a precautionary measure.
