Liverpool hoping to copy double Arsenal masterplan as Jurgen Klopp ‘rejected’ transfer
Liverpool may be about to copy Arsenal’s blueprint in utilising the loan market for their young stars.

Arsenal have set the benchmark for sending young players out on loan to go on and thrive in their new environments and either returning as mega stars such as William Saliba or becoming an extremely valuable asset in Folarin Balogun. It’s how most teams want their loan deals to go but they’re very rarely as successful as Arsenal have shown in recent years.
Liverpool are one such club who haven’t had much luck in sending their players out on loan in the past. Most who have left Liverpool on a temporary basis usually end up leaving as a free agent, returning and playing for the reserves or joining another club for a miniscule fee.
This past season saw Rhys Williams and Sepp van den Berg play for Blackpool and Schalke on loan respectively but both players struggled for regular minutes. But Liverpool will be hoping for a far greater return this season with two of their most promising youth players being sent out on loan.
Calvin Ramsay has been sent to Preston, but all eyes will be on Fabio Carvalho’s development at RB Leipzig. While Ramsay will surely benefit from a season playing regularly in the Championship, Carvalho is joining a team competing in next year’s Champions League and one with hopes of challenging at the top of the Bundesliga.

It’s a testament to Carvalho’s value at Liverpool also that Jurgen Klopp reportedly stepped in to prevent the Portuguese star from leaving on a permanent basis. There’s said to be no option to buy in the deal with Leipzig, giving Liverpool full control over Carvalho’s future in 12 months.
Carvalho was always going to struggle for minutes at Anfield with Liverpool’s array of tacking talents now with Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz. Now, he joins a club renowned for giving young stars a chance to shine on a global stage.
