Tottenham: Watch Vicario’s impressive back-heel save against Roma and Abraham
Guglielmo Vicario has impressed with a series of impressive saves and overall performances over the course of the last two seasons, so much so that Tottenham are willing to pay €20m to secure his signature this transfer window.
No other stops of his, however, were quite as remarkable as the extraordinary triple-save he managed to pull out against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in February.
With the Giallorossi already leading 2-0 in the second half, Vicario was called into action to keep out a series of goal-bound efforts from some of Roma’s star players.
First came the initial parry from Paulo Dybala’s venomous volley, then, a diving Vicario, at full stretch, reacted brilliantly to keep out Gianluca Mancini’s follow-up, before a remarkable, instinctive effort with the studs of his boot denied Tammy Abraham from point-blank range.
