Tottenham target could reject Postecoglou and secure huge Ronaldo link up at Al Nassr as ‘verbal offer’ sent
Tottenham have been regularly linked with the 30-year-old in recent months to try and bolster their midfield.
And there might be a spot for Brozovic in Ange Postecoglou’s squad if current option Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg moves on. He has been tipped to head back to Bayern, while Atletico Madrid are also monitoring his situation.
Brozovic has a contract with Inter which runs until June 2026. Despite this, he has been named as one of the players the Italian outfit could sell to increase their transfer funds.
And it looks like the bidding has begun for the player. As per Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Brozovic may play with Manchester United and Real Madrid legend Ronaldo next term as his club Al Nassr have sent Inter a ‘verbal offer’. This is worth €18million (£15m).
Inter are likely to reject the opening proposal as they have put Brozovic’s valuation at €20m (£17m).
But given the huge finances available to the top Saudi Arabian clubs, it does not look like it will be long before Al Nassr return with an improved bid and match Inter’s demands.
Di Marzio adds that the Croatian’s future is ‘increasingly far from Inter’. Indeed, it is not just Al Nassr that are interested.
The report reveals how Barcelona would also like to sign Brozovic. The Spanish giants have not submitted an offer for him yet, although that could soon change. It is claimed that they are ‘ready to match’ Al Nassr’s opening bid.
Barca have drawn up a three-year contract for Brozovic worth €7m per season. That works out at around £115,000 a week.
Tottenham target can choose between Al Nassr and Barcelona
Clearly, Al Nassr will be able to offer Brozovic far more than this. They are paying Ronaldo an eye-watering sum of £3.4m every single week, for example
Di Marzio’s report ends by stating it is now up to the player to decide where he wants to go next.
He can ensure the final few years of his career are lucrative by joining Al Nassr, in a move which would mean he does not have to worry about money at all after retiring.
Alternatively, Brozovic may opt to prioritise playing at the highest level, and this would take him to Barca. He could add a few important winners’ medals to his collection by going to the Nou Camp as Xavi’s team won La Liga and the Spanish super cup in the 2022-23 campaign.
For Spurs, it looks like their hopes of landing Brozovic may be over. However, they do have other midfielders on their radar, with one Ligue 1 target described as being perfect for Postecoglou’s style of play.
